My approach to therapy is rooted in open-mindedness, curiosity, and the idea that our work is an opportunity for you to be both seen and valued for who you are and also nurtured and supported in your journey into the person you would like to become. Therapy is the freedom to gain self awareness, engage your intuition, and find meaning in your life. It is also a space that we create together to confront obstacles like trauma, loss, debilitating fear and anxiety, and limiting beliefs that may be hindering your mental health and affecting your connection to others.

I see my clients as experts on their own lives and writers of their own stories, and have experience working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, aging, grief and loss, eating disorders, trauma, and women’s issues. I am here to challenge your ways of thinking that might be holding you back from achieving individuation and self-fulfillment. In our therapeutic space, we will work together to seek healing through warmth, care, respect, trust, and even humor and joy.

Therapy can be hard work, but its effects are long-lasting. The reflective lens that we develop through talking about our inner lives continues to serve us after treatment ends. We are able to establish better relationships with our families, friends, community members and coworkers. Internalized healing power is priceless.

Coming from a client-centered and psychodynamic background, I utilize the theories and techniques of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients affect change in their lives. My practice is also informed by Jungian psychology, trauma-informed therapy, and a combination of Ego-State and Internal Family Systems therapies to help people process traumatic experiences and memories to find healing in the present. With my background in Social Work, I view my clients not only as individuals, but people who are affected by cultural and systemic factors. I prioritize providing therapy with an affirming and accepting attention to the dynamics of intersectionality contained within each and every person.

I grew  up on the Olympic Peninsula, which taught me my love of the outdoors and gave me an appreciation for warm, sunny days and hiking in the Elwha Valley. After living in Seattle while earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, I moved to Boston, Massachusetts to complete my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Boston University. It was in Boston that I discovered that mountains mean something completely different on the East Coast and that my Washington roots would bring me back home. I currently enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and staying cozy with a good book. I look forward to accompanying you on your own journey!
