“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” - Carl Rogers
Welcome! I believe therapy is a space where all parts of you, including those that have been disowned or dismissed, can find acceptance. Whether you’re new to therapy or have been down this road before, sharing your story is incredibly brave. Together, we’ll explore your story with compassion and curiosity, listening for what wants to shift. I want our work to help you build more connection and meaning in your life, and move you toward what or who matters most to you.
I work with people navigating identity, relationships, and the lingering effects of trauma. It’s not uncommon for clients I work with to uncover, over time, underlying struggles with disordered eating or body image that have gone unspoken. I work well with clients who identify as highly sensitive, or have had to mold themselves into roles that don’t quite fit in order to feel safe or successful. I also enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients (I’m queer myself). I work particularly well with relationships and attachment, people pleasing, depression and anxiety, life transitions, authenticity, shame, and loneliness. I’m a good fit for those seeking longterm work that addresses root causes of problems rather than surface-level symptom relief.
Our focus will be creating a secure space to let your authentic self unfurl, using our relationship as a catalyst for growth and healing. While I don’t see myself as a “fixer” of problems, I am a steady partner in facing them. Our work will be grounded in relational psychodynamic therapy, which means we’ll explore how patterns in your present life—particularly those that feel painful, confusing, or stuck—may be unconsciously rooted in earlier relational experiences. I also often draw from parts work (IFS), mindfulness, and interpersonal neurobiology. Together, we’ll pay attention to how larger systems of power impact not only your lived experience, but also the space between us. I’m invested in how our consistent, attuned connection can reveal profound change over time.
Healing happens on a whole-body level. In therapy, we’ll tend to both your thinking mind and your embodied, emotional self. In my experience, therapy can feel more grounded and connected when we're in the same room, and so I prefer working together in person. I can provide telehealth sessions when necessary.
Growing up in Eastern Washington left me with a deep love of sagebrush and Top 40 radio. My path to becoming a therapist meandered through many kinds of work—early childhood education, public health, and living abroad—which continue to shape my understanding of people and systems. I hold a BA in Biology from Whitman College and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Outside the therapy room, I can be found sea kayaking, poking around thrift shops, or making up goofy voices for dogs.
