Internship Site Description
Self Space is a group therapy practice with locations in downtown Seattle and Kirkland, offering psychotherapy services to adults, adolescents, kids and couples. The practice is currently composed of 25+ licensed therapists who see a variety of clients, working from a variety of modalities and areas of expertise. At Self Space, we believe therapy is first and foremost a relationship with an open, non-judgmental professional with whom you can safely share your whole self. In this safe and compassionate environment people experience real and significant change.
Self Space offers an internship for masters level students who are looking to gain experience in adult individual and couples counseling. Interns gain practical experience to complement academic theory, training and guidance under supervision that fulfills state licensure requirements. Interns build to a caseload of 12 clients weekly who benefit from low cost therapy services. Students will gain experience in clinical application, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and exploration of transference/countertransference.
Interns will receive:
Clinical supervision 1x/week
Self Space case consult 1x/week
In-depth clinical trainings, periodic
Internship duties will include:
Managing a caseload of 12 clients (adult and adolescent individuals and couples)
Note-taking, scheduling and billing for those clients
Attending supervision, case consult, and trainings; this may include filming and transcription of Portions of session for presentation

Job Overview: Self Space is looking for highly skilled individuals and couples therapist (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, PhD or PsyD) to join our team in Kirkland, WA. This is a clinician who wants to be part of a larger community of healers whose mission is to help people create safe and loving space in their lives and bodies. The ideal candidate would want to be about the work of great therapy with individuals and couples, and leave the logistics of running the business to someone else. They work well as part of a team and want to be part of a cultural shift where therapy moves from something people find in crisis to something people consider part of their regular health care routine. At Self Space, our goal is long term therapeutic relationships.
We provide you a base salary, benefits, and continuing education, and you have the opportunity to earn additional income as you see more clients. We work as a team to market your practice, and Self Space takes care of the scheduling, billing, legal and compliance side. Therapists see a minimum of 24 clients/week. This position is for therapists who want to see clients primarily in person.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
Active Washington State licensure: LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, PhD or PsyD by start date
Two years of experience (can include internship) providing mental health counseling
