MA, LMHC

I see therapy as a safe, compassionate space where you can dive into an exploration of yourself, what you want, and what may be getting in the way.  Guided by curiosity and intuition, we work together to understand the many pieces that make up your story, uncover different perspectives or new truths, and help you continue building the life you want.  Often, this transformative exploration empowers clients to create a richer, more nuanced, and compassionate narrative freeing them from the places they feel stuck and enabling forward movement with renewed clarity and purpose.

I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief or loss, life transitions, relationship or communication challenges, and trauma or PTSD.  I approach therapy in an integrative way, meaning that my  goal is to meet you where you are, and tailor our work together to your unique needs.  My goal is to help you feel seen and understood. I am passionate about working with people who are ready to make change in their lives, and we will work together as we explore what those changes look like and how we get there.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, which allows me to connect with you from both holistic and cognitive approaches.  Many of these perspectives focus on expressing and understanding the conflicts and challenges in our internal worlds, such as creative art therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and Acceptance-Commitment therapy (ACT).  I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other cognitive behavioral approaches. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a cognitive behavioral approach to addressing the beliefs that emerge from trauma. I also offer parent coaching to support parents and families going through mental health challenges and navigating difficult behavioral issues at home. These modalities guide my work with individuals as we take time over the course of our therapeutic relationship to learn ways of coping effectively with anxiety, improve relationships with ourselves and with our loved ones, and better understand our stories. I value the idea of taking this collaborative approach one step at a time, and tailoring therapy to your unique needs.

Born and raised in Boston, I found a way to travel throughout my undergraduate and graduate training. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and art at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. I then did my graduate training in Cork, Ireland, receiving a Master’s in Art Therapy from Munster Technological University at Crawford College of Art & Design. I am a recently established Washingtonian in the last few years. I have always been passionate about the outdoors, travel, creativity, and connecting with people. I enjoy camping, hiking in the mountains, lake swims, traveling, and creating art. A perfect day for me would involve sitting in the sunshine, maybe out on the lake, enjoying a cup of coffee, walking through a local park with my partner and our golden retriever puppy. I look forward to taking this next step with you on your therapeutic journey!
