As human beings, we have the capacity to experience life’s beauty, hardships, and everything in between. There will be times when we feel stuck, confused, or defeated. At these moments, our identity, values, and life goals may come into question. I believe therapy provides a nonjudgmental space to explore how life events impact us and others, and it is my goal to help my clients reach a better understanding of themselves in relation to their life experiences. I am passionate about helping my clients re-discover their zest for life and develop the confidence to change and grow from thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs that no longer serve them.
I work with adults and teens who are experiencing depression, anxiety, symptoms of trauma/PTSD, life transitions, communication issues, and burnout. I also offer parent coaching and support to families who have children with severe mental health struggles. In all of my therapeutic work, I collaborate with my clients to explore and navigate their experiences so they can better understand themselves and create effective change. My therapeutic approach is based in client-centered, psychodynamic, creative arts, and trauma-informed psychotherapy. Through these different philosophies, I work with my clients to create more effective coping skills, increase independence, and improve their relationship with themselves. I believe that my clients and I are a team and that my clients are the experts of their life experiences. Together, we create a safe atmosphere that honors vulnerability and trust.
I am a transplant to Seattle from sunny Southern California. Before I entered the counseling field, I studied violin performance at the University of Redlands and taught violin, viola, and cello to second and third graders. However, I always felt called to counseling, and eventually made the decision to attend graduate school at Drexel University to pursue music therapy and mental health counseling. When I am not at work, you will find me taking walks at our beautiful Seattle parks, admiring Lake Union and the Puget Sound, singing and playing guitar, drinking iced vanilla lattes, and hanging out with my cats.
